{"id":546,"date":"2011-03-02T10:07:02","date_gmt":"2011-03-02T15:07:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/popvegonline.com\/blog\/?p=546"},"modified":"2011-03-02T10:07:02","modified_gmt":"2011-03-02T15:07:02","slug":"vegan-milk-amazing-make-at-home-almond-brazil-whatever","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/popvegonline.com\/blog\/vegan-milk-amazing-make-at-home-almond-brazil-whatever\/","title":{"rendered":"#Vegan Milk &#8211; Amazing make-at-home (Almond, brazil, whatever!)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From our friend Jora&#8230; an amazing person&#8230; and her friend Mona.<\/p>\n<p>The nut milk:<\/p>\n<p>1 cup nuts (unsalted raw &#8211; best) soaked overnight in clean water.<\/p>\n<p>Strain and rinse and add:<\/p>\n<p>4 cups water<\/p>\n<p>Blend in your vita-mix (popveg says you have to have one of these&#8230; it&#8217;s absolutely the best) for about a minute<\/p>\n<p>Strain through cheese cloth or nut milk bag. And squeeze the cloth to get the moisture out of the pulp.<\/p>\n<p>Add: 1\/8 -1\/4 cup agave nectar<br \/>\nPinch of salt<br \/>\nTeaspoon of vanilla or a 1\/4 teaspoon of almond extract<br \/>\nA few dates are good too<\/p>\n<p>Mix these together (if you use dates &#8211; you will blend this again in your vitamix)<\/p>\n<p>Refrigerate and enjoy.<\/p>\n<p>This will last about four or five days in your refrigerator.<\/p>\n<p>I love pecans and walnuts but my favorite by far is brazil nuts. <\/p>\n<p>Brazil nut milk is criminally good!<\/p>\n<p>OH &#8211; and if you need a nut bag (better than cheesecloth)&#8230; here&#8217;s one to check out:<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"http:\/\/rcm.amazon.com\/e\/cm?lt1=_blank&#038;bc1=000000&#038;IS2=1&#038;bg1=FFFFFF&#038;fc1=000000&#038;lc1=0000FF&#038;t=popv-20&#038;o=1&#038;p=8&#038;l=as4&#038;m=amazon&#038;f=ifr&#038;asins=B00158U8DU\" style=\"width:120px;height:240px;\" scrolling=\"no\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From our friend Jora&#8230; an amazing person&#8230; and her friend Mona.
