So – I was at the grocery store last night. I really want to get some ORGANIC tomato sauce. I’ve been buying ONLY organic tomatoes, and the sauce should be too, right? Right!

So I’m perusing the aisles of my local Publix. And while I commend them for their great greenwise selections… they only have 8 oz cans of Publix Brand Organic tomato sauce.

8 oz cans? That’s enough for … nothing I make. I need bigger cans, man!!

But I digress.

What REALLY caught my eye… was a can of Hunts tomato sauce PROUDLY wearing the label: ALL NATURAL!!!!

WTF?

Seriously?

They needed to put that on a label?

Amonia is natural, right? Cat pee is natural. Mold is natural. Dung beetles, natural, too. You get the idea.

The aim of the mis-marketers is dead set on the partial label readers. “Ohhh, honey. It’s all natural. Must be better!” Not so fast, Grasshopper. It doesn’t say “organic.” And even the value of that statement is up in the air.

Maybe it’s just me. Maybe I’m crazy. But I think all the food in the grocery store should be ALL NATURAL. Not just the specially labeled stuff… that partial label readers read. Would the can that’s 10 cents cheaper read more accurately “Full of fake, poisonous shit?”

And keep in mind that many poisons, and most shit, is All Natural.
